Please stay out of my dreams
I don’t invade yours’
I don’t show up to hug you
Or even annoy you
And if I do I am sorry.
You shouldn’t be in my dreams
So vivid, so close
A warm lakeside, a stone-littered beach
I know I’m not the only one missing you
But I know you’ve given up
Given me up
You hugged me, you kissed me
And you were the nagging phantom
In my heart and on my mind
So many things make me whisper your name
From time to time
You don’t want me back
You can’t have me back
You’ve said so aloud
Please stay out of my dreams
I’m sure I’m not in yours’
Author’s Note: the last time I had a dream like this I learned someone I cared for/lusted/chased/ect. , was now married to someone she preferred more than I.
C’est la vie.

hugs you
Ohhhh! :(
Sad but nicely-written/expressed poem. I hope you have dreams, more to your liking.
